Hello. Love your pages, but i do not have a pc at home so i'm sending this little message from the pc- school, i'm attending at the moment. Have never seen Kindred, it's impossible to get it here in Denmark. I saw mr. Frankel, for the first time, in January this year (1999) in the serie Young Kathrine, (I just fell in love) A few month ago, a chanel showed Fortune Hunter, but onley 10 episodes. In August this year i read on the net,that Mr. Frankel died in a motorcycel accident. (my heart is broken, he can't be gone!) I have bourgt the videos: For Rosanne, Leon The pig farmer, Solitaire for two, but can't get the videos: Kindred The Embraced. That all from me in Copenhagen, Denmark. Take care, love Mette

I also am a big fan of Mark Frankel. I was mesmerized by his beauty and charm in his role as "Julian Luna" in Kindred. I still to this day play the series of tapes over and over. It's really a shame what happened to him ...he was very talented and truly captivating!!!!

I've been really wondering what happened to the show Kindred:The Embraced. They showed it here in the Philippines in a certain channel and then it just stopped from being shown. I was really sad and want to know what happened to the show because I really oved it and became a fan. I admired Mark Frankel, he was very captivating, not only he was really good-looking but he was truly a very good actor. At that time I wanted to know more about him but I couldn't find news about him here in the Philippines so t was very frustrating. But then I found this website and only to find out he's not here anymore. Would you believe it took me two years to find that out. As soon as I read it I wanted to cry. I'm just so sad because he really was a good actor and its har to know that we lost a very good talent.

i am deeply heart broken.i remember religiously watching every episode of fortune hunter. the same repeats over and over again. i truly fell head over heels in love with carlton dial - his looks, his accent everything.i searched his name a long time back nd found nothing. today somehow i decided to try again and am deeply shocked to learn of his death.he will always be remembered as a great actor.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Marks passing. I remember casually flipping through the channels one night and coming accross The Kindred. I never knew what the actors' name was yet I felt incredibly compelled to watch. I remember being deeply intrigued b both the show and his portrayal. I saw : Kindred: The Embrase for the first time this past august. I beleive it was a re-run for what I have read. Mark was marvelous to look at as an actor and very beautiful to look at. I just found out that he passed away, I always feel sad when some on so talented and good looking dies so young. Like most I have just finished watching the Kindred for the second time when it was brought back on the Sciene Fiction Channel. I was hooked all over again. I then did a internet check to see what else he had done and than found out about this death. W at a shock. I am glad to finally hear that I am not the only one who is feeling a loss for somebody that I have never met but will miss dearly. Does anybody know if that is why the show suddenly stopped because of this death. From what I understand the last episode that I saw was when they went to the cottage. I recently started watches Kindred: The Embraced and fell in love with the show and Mark Frankel. Watching that show I find it really hard to believe that he is gone. I know it has been almost three years since his death but I would like to send my hear felt sympathy to his wife and two small children.

I watched Kindred when it was first on, and I have just recently been watching it again on the Space channel, and have been reminded of how much I enjoyed watching Mark as Julian. And then, this morning, Young Catherine was being shown on the History Chan el, and since I had loved that movie when I first saw it on TV 8 years ago, I decided to watch again. It is so dissappointing that Sky won't reshow kindred the embraced, I have 6 episodes on video but I have watched it so much the sound is very poor now. The video box set is only available in american format unsuitable for uk machines. Does anyone know if Marks other films are available in the uk? I would like very much to see them. Like you, Sandy, I and many other UK fans were shocked when we heard about Mark's death during the run of Kindred on Sky 2 in 1996. When Sky 2 closed down I wrote to Sky 1 asking them to re-run the series, but they say Sky no longer has a licence to run t. It's probably the only Sky 2 series not to have been carried forward to Sky 1.

I first saw Mark Frankel as Julian Luna in Kindred the Embraced. I fell in love with the character, I don't know how alike Mark and Julian were as I never knew Mark, I wish I had done. Anyone who can bring life to such a fantastic character as Julian Luna, is in my opinion a truely gifted person. It is a great shame that he has gone. When I heard of his tragic death(at the end of episode 4 "Romeo and Juliet" on sky 2) I felt physically ick and it tinged the rest of the series with great sadness for me. It was a very moving experience. Ever since then I have always wanted to express my feelings of loss for this person I never knew. I would have liked to have made a journey to his grave t leave a flower for him. This site is a great way for me to let out some of that. Thank you for setting it up. My thoughts are with Marks family... I hope that they find some comfort in knowing how many people he had touched without ever meeting them.

We were saddened by Marks' death especially in such a horrible way. My husband found out when he heard it on an entertainment show. Many magazines, such as People and Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide, all mentioned his death; however we were a little s d to see conflicting information. It's upsetting to see we really know so very little about him and his career. We first really noticed him in Kindred: The Embraced, although we later found out we have some of his movies on tape. He really had quite a resence about him that we'll really miss. We loved to watch him bring his mysterious charm to all the characters he portrayed. We really lost a great actor to such a stupid accident. I hope people who read this remember and learn from his death. Don't let it be in vain. We love you Mark and know you are in a better place. i first saw mark frankel in young catherine, and could not take my eyes off of him. he made me shiver. i didn't see him again until sisters-and was even more impressed with him-and his acting-than i was the first time i spotted him. i must have seen soli aire for 2 at least 7 times. i loved him in kindred, and probably would have given julian luna my neck with no prompting. he was such a great actor, and it is so nice to know that he was just as lovely on the inside as he was on the outside. This past weekend I rented and watched "For Roseanna" (I was intrigued by the previews), and totally enjoyed the film. One surprise in the movie came from the performances of the actors. Mark Frankel definitely stood out. I feel for his looks, but also the character, Antonio, that he played. When the movie ended I totally waited for the credits to find out who played Antonio, and then after reading his name, the credit read that the movie was dedicated to him. At first I was confused, because I wasn't ure if this meant he had died. Most dedication are stated, "In memory of ...." I did hope that death was not the meaning of the statement, but instead maybe his acting debut. Well I went to my friendly Internet to investigate, and finally came across your great web page for Mr. Frankel. I'm very sorry to hear about his death, I was looking forward to seeing him in more performances. That won't happen but I will watch some of the the other movies he performed in. I hope they are as good as "For Roseanna". I had watched the movie alone, so I was happy to suggest a charming movie to my friends that not too many people have heard of before. I was also happy to plug Mr. Frankel. The screen will miss the face, and his acting. Only 1 suggestion, if possible get a picture of him from "For Roseanna"; there he looks young and bright. Their was something about Mark Frankel that was special. When I first saw him in one of the "Embraced" series, I thought, "He will go far". and I made a note to follow his career. This is unusual for me, as I have rarely been one to take a special interest in a single actor. Jan. 99', after finding the three volume series of "Embraced" in the video store, I watached them all in one night, eagerly anticipating getting back in touch with Mark. I have also seen Solitare for 2 and loved Marks elegant and et funny, sensative (even boyishly unabashed enjoyment-of-life) portrayal of Daniel. His interpretation of the character captured some of the very elements of my own husband, that I find most endearing and sexy. I couldn't believe how much I connected w th him and felt almost a part of the family. I considered myself a friend (even though I had never met him). After reading more about who he actually was from others who know him, I definitely know I would have liked Mark in real life too. I guess that may help to explain why, when I hit the Webb Jan 99' and read of his passing in 96', I felt such emptiness. Director "Gary Siynor" summed my fellings up almost exactly, "I'll miss his future and his part in mine (for me, that is the injoyment in experiei cing his interpretation of a character and knowing that someone with those fabulous looks is also a great human being and on the planet)." I feel sad, that he is dead.... The first time I saw him was in 1997 with Fortune Hunter. But it was difficult to get some informations about him. Nowadays it is easier. Today I saw the repeat of Fortune Hunter at one of our local tv-stations. So I remember how I felt at our first contact - he as Carlton Dial and me as kid watching TV. And I looked up in the Inter- net, looking what he actually do - he is DEAD. Now I feel so sad, cause he was the first guy I want and he is dead. No chance to meet him and tell him that he helped through the hard times of COMING OUT ! The only thing I could do now - copy all files and text about him, save them and watch them sometimes. I'm in shock. I didn't know he was dead. His series have just resently been shown in Denmark (Catherine the Great, Kindred, the embraced). I thought he was a brilliant actor and wanted to know more about him and then I find out that he died in 1996. What a loss. To die so young and to leave behind two small children. I got on the internet today with the sole purpose of finding out what he has been upto lately -- to see if he had a new projects -- since I had recently caught him in For Roseana and ad not scene or heard of him in a while. I saw him for the first time in "Young Catherine" and thought "Oh. My. God." I'd seen him in his role as Michelangelo, and in tiny parts here and there--one from the "Maigret" mystery series on PBS, which I'd taped unknowingly, and still have. The Kindr d series, personally, I didn't like and didn't watch, but he himself was eminently watchable, even in that. He was possibly the most strikingly handsome man I've ever seen, but there was so much more to him than that, visible even to someone like me, who d never met him, knew nothing about him, and had only seen him in a few roles here and there. There was (please, I mean no disrespect in saying this) a LIFE there; a spark that was simply enigmatic and engaging, and held your attention completely. I rem mber reading a tiny blurb in the paper saying Mark Frankel had been killed, and I remember thinking "that's impossible." I miss him still. It makes me feel better that there are other people who have never forgotten him, either.

30 November 1998 One of the reasons I did not want to move to British Columbia, Canada so soon was that "Kindred: The Embraced" was not being shown (or re-run). That meant, missing Mark Frankel's haunting, brooding, mesmerizing, charismatic countenance. I must admit it was only a few months ago that I was "embraced" by Julian. But it kept me in a stranglehold. I was fortunate to chance upon a few episodes of "Fortune Hunter." However, it would have been better if Mark Frankel was surrounded with better a tors. To find out about his death at this point is just profoundly saddening. One almost wishes that Mark Frankel can be a Julian Luna and masquerade among the mortals. I first saw Him in Kindred: the Embraced and I instantly fell in love with everything about him, then suddenly the show was axed and I didn't find out untill months later that he died in a motorcycle accident. (A friend was reading a magazine where someo e wrote in to the editor asking the reason for the endding of the show). And so he exitted my life as quick as he entered it. The next and last time I saw Him, was when my mother rented Young Catherine, (she's a big Ormond fan). I couldn't believe my eyes, there on the cover in a small portrait I saw what looked like the Prince from my beloved t.v. series. Studying the movie c osely and trying to get over his gorgeous long hair I came to the conclusion that maybe there is more of him out there that I thought. (I was so overwhelmed that I had to check the credits twice before I was sure it was Him). From that day I've been looking everywhere for his movies, and though the computer video refrences in the rental stores give me a list of his movies, the stores never seen to have them. After that the buzz died down until I got the internet. (Thank God or the internet!!) Your site in one of a few that I've visited, and I must say It's the best I've seen yet! When I saw Mark's father last night I looked into the eyes of a desolute man, all the happiness gone, and for what? A hit and run truck on the motorway took ark's life and I will always feel so angry the killer is still free. The first time I saw Mark Frankel was in Kindred- The Embraced. I watched every episode, and was often rivited with goosbumbs watching Marks' extrordinarily powerful performance as Julian Luna. Hi- I was glad to find your page dedicated to Mark. He was and is my favorite actor of all time. I first saw him as the dashing soldier love of Catherine the Great in "Young Catherine", and then later saw him in "Michelangelo". There was a scene in th t where he looks up, and his face fills the whole screen. All the pain and anguish that his character felt was on his face in that one moment, and it made me cry. It was the first time I had felt so much just by simply looking into someone's face. Of c urse he was the most handsome man I'd ever seen, but it was more than that- as you said, he had a presence that overflowed and filled up the screen, and I imagine any room that he happened to be in. I wish that I would have had a chance to see him just o ce in person, to see if he affected me the way he does on screen. Thanks Chris for this opportunity to share my feelings about Mark Frankel and his career. I first saw Mark in Young Catherine in '91. I felt like I had made a great discovery and looked forward to watching his career. I watched him again in A Season of Gi nts and the few FH shows. When I read about his death in '96 I was devastated. Most of all I felt so alone in my sadness. I resigned myself to watching YC again and again. A few weeks ago, to my surprise, I saw Mark's name in the synopsis for Solitaire fo 2. I watched the movie through tears. I got on the web and thanks to Chris's wonderful site, I found out I'm not alone and have been able to tape or buy everything but FH and Sisters (trade anyone?). The sadness I still feel has been deepened by the news that he left a wife and children. I send my deepest sympathy to them and hope they find comfort knowing that he was admired as a person and his work enjoyed by people all over the world. Mark will always be one of my favorite actors and I feel very very f rtunate to have seen his work. (Sorry about the length, but appreciate the opportunity to write.)

He was so damn talented and those yokels at Fox made a huge mistake in cancelling "FH". Phy ically, he was PERFECTION!! The epitome of a Greek God!! His eyes were hypnotic. I had the honor to work with Mark on the set of Solitaire for 2 and I'm proud to say that. He was one of the most intense person I've ever worked with -well, even seen. He had this magnetism and good energy around him that made us all fascinated. He alway took time to talk to everyone in the set - from the caterers to the Assistant Director -everyone and it is a shame that he's dead. I was struck with grief to hear about the tragic death of our young star, Mark Frankel. He was a wonderful person, not only a star, but from what a hear in everything. People loved him and loved to spend time around him. I am only sorry he had to go so ea ly. The first time I ever saw Mark Frankel was in Kindred The Embraced and I thought he was brilliant. He always was. May you rest in peace and Thank You very much for keeping his memory alive. One more thing, this is a wonderful site! Keep up the great w rk!

I first noticed Mark Frankel in Sisters.I thought that he was so good-looking and top of it all he was also very talented. He was great playing the character as Simon Bolt. I read about his death ( motorbike crash ) a couple of months ago on the internet and was sad to see this. Rest in peace Mark Frankel. I´ll never forget you. By the way, these pictures of him is great. I just love them

I came across Mark Frankel's obit. while surfing one day, and felt like I'd been kicked in the belly....what a shame, what a loss. He was so great to watch. First time I saw him in anything was "A Season of Giants." My heart goes out to his family.
