FIRST, THE syndicated action-adventure TV series Thunder in Paradise
chooses to film in Central Florida. Now Fox is shooting a 90-minute pilot
for a James Bond-type series. The Fortune Hunter, which began 15 days of
production March 21 and stars Mark Frankel of Sisters, is based at
Universal Studios Florida but is shooting all over the region. Like
Thunder at Disney-MGM, Fortune wants the world as a stage. It has picked
up San Francisco scenes at Universal and Moroccan drama at Epcot.
Locations, cost savings and the California earthquake helped seal the deal
for Florida. If Fox likes the pilot, Fortune could be back this summer.
